How To: Be The Perfect Gentleman

No matter the time of year, you can never fail to impress with a home cooked treat. However, the perfect excuse is upon us with Valentines Day. So, if all else fails and you do forget to get your other half that something special try our fail-safe recipe for a delicious berry crumble.

Serves 2
Ingredients:

Filling:
250g fresh raspberries
150g fresh blackberries
20g sugar

Topping:
70g plain flour
30g butter
15g caster sugar
70g rolled oats
Ground cinnamon for sprinkling

Pre-heat the oven to 190 °C
Place all the berries into a baking dish, approximately 20 x 15cm, and scatter the sugar over.
In a separate bowl, combine the flour, butter and sugar. Break down the butter with your fingertips and as you bring it together with the flour and sugar you should create a breadcrumb consistency. Finally add in the oats before putting the crumble on top of the berries. Finally, sprinkle some cinnamon on the top.
Place the dish onto a middle shelf of the oven and cook for 25-30minutes or until golden brown and the berries have softened.
Leave to stand, serve with vanilla ice cream or custard.
Enjoy.
