LORD JAMES PERCY

Lord James Percy, considered to be one of the outstanding shots of his generation, has worked closely with Barbour for over five years. He has been responsible for the design and development of Barbour’s shooting range, and being a keen shot himself, he is a meticulous and enthusiastic field tester!

In 2004, James created and designed the Northumberland range, a collection of technically advanced shooting clothing including the highly acclaimed Lightweight Cheviot Jacket.

In 2005, Barbour was awarded the IPC Shooting Industry Award for Best Clothing Product for the Northumberland Range.

In 2008, he designed the Linhope Endurance 3-in-1 shooting jacket with its integral waistcoat which beat off the competition and went on to win Best Shooting Clothing Product at the IPC Shooting Industry Awards that year. He also designed the innovative Linhope Featherweight jacket, the lightest shooting jacket that Barbour has ever produced. Launched at the 2008 CLA Game Fair, the Linhope Featherweight sold out on the first day and has gone on to be one of Barbour’s best selling shooting jackets.

For Autumn Winter 2011, James alongside Helen Barbour, Vice Chairman of Barbour, will launch a new shooting collection under the brand name of Barbour Sporting, showcasing a wardrobe of clothes for the active sportsman which will lead the way in performance and technical innovation. James' technical input when designing garments and the exhaustive field testing he puts them through, ensures that they are totally fit for purpose. All the Barbour clothes that he designs are tried and tested by him and his team of keepers on his estate, Linhope in the Cheviot Hills, Northumberland.

HOUSEHOLD CAVALRY POLO TEAM

Since 2002, Barbour has sponsored the Household Cavalry Polo team. Composed of players from Britain’s most renowned regiments of cavalry, The Life Guards and The Blues and Royals, the team has an excellent record in competitions as far afield as India, Pakistan, South Africa and the USA. In 2005, 2006 and 2009 they won the prestigious Inter-Regimental Cup and are also past winners of the Spring Amateur Tournament, the Royal Windsor Horse Show Cup and the Claude Pert Cup.
